Seeking fish trait data for ecosystem models

Has anyone compiled species-level functional traits for marine fishes — gill surface area, routine metabolic rate, diet breadth, and depth range — usable for trophic and energy-flow models? I’m updating a NE Pacific food-web model for 2025, and while FishBase 2024.1 covers trophic level and Lm, I’m missing stage-specific values (juvenile vs. adult) and habitat use needed to represent ontogenetic shifts in predator–prey roles; pointers to open datasets or R packages would be appreciated.

I’d pull FishBase ‘Oxygen consumption’ and OBIS (https://obis.org) depth/habitat; size-bin lengths for juvenile/adult proxies — agree?

Have you checked out the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)? They might have some useful datasets, especially for juvenile habitats. It’s like collecting Pokémon data but for fish — always a good strategy to catch them all.
