Fish keep filling my water column

Dawn run with the EM2040 yesterday and I chased a ‘new’ 3.1 m shoal for two lines before realizing it was a skate camping in the nadir like it owned the channel. Anyone else have biological “contacts” that keep trying to get charted, or is navigational safety now a joint venture with opportunistic flatfish?

Been there — tighten the EM2040 bottom-detect gate and log water column; that ‘3.1 m shoal’ vanishes.

We clawed back yield at 200 L by ditching tip-speed matching and holding ‘constant P/V’ instead (about 0.4 W/L); once we tuned rpm to keep power density steady through a 45‑min semi‑batch, impurity B dropped about 30% and the vortex stopped porpoising. You’ll need the motor curve or inline torque to estimate P/V, @benthic_beaker.
